There are so many ways that you can RE-ROOF your existing conservatory to make it an all year room. And just like everything there is a right way to do things and there are also many ways to get it wrong! With this in mind we would like to point out that there are many companies offering cheap ways of re-roofing conservatories. Many of them are simply under-cladding or over-cladding the existing roof and sometimes they do both. There are of course ways that this can be achieved using the right materials and technical competence but there are many out there that are doing it wrong and causing long term structural problems to existing conservatories and properties.
At RE-ROOF we only work with companies that use proven roofing systems that are Insurance Backed and will deliver on the promises they make. Please visit our SUPPLY PARTNERS PAGE to see how we choose the individual companies that we work with.
TIMBER STRUCTUREI have heard of some companies saying that you shouldn't build a conservatory roof out of timber because it will rot. Which is quite concerning seeing as all our house roof's are made of timber. The issue with timber is that it is heavy, so as long as companies use the right timber and have satisfied themselves that the windows and foundations are adequately constructed, then a timber structure is a sound investment.

ALUMINIUM STRUCTURE
Aluminium is a strong and lightweight metal that will not rust so its a great option for building a solid structure to support the roof. Because Aluminium allows the cold to bridge through the structure it is important that the roof is well insulated above, between and underneath the aluminium components.

GRP STRUCTURE
Using state of the art technology GRP is lighter than Aluminium and Timber, and better insulating. The roof needs less insulation to achieve similar u-values but is more costly than its competitors.
